If you use iTunes, go over to Simply Media and download their client. It's mac and pc, and its totally awesome. If you don't use iTunes, well, now is as good a time as any to correct your ignorant ways.

Long story short: it enables you to connect to friend's shared iTunes music libraries and stream them over the net as if they were on your local network.

Notes so far: Kinda wish it shared playlists, to enable me to judge you that much more harshly. Also, the icon is god awful for a mac application. This must change. NOW. Someone tell Hicksy to jump on that.

Lisa Mac raises a good point: itunes should buy simplifymedia, implement social networking by appleID and let us have wishlists and recommendations. That would be perfect
